Hercules Street, Islington

Compact new build housing project on an infill site in Islington, North London. The new building contains a pair of two-bedroom maisonettes for private rent on a site which once housed a substation and a car park. The rhythm of the building's fenestration complements the facades of adjacent properties and the use of a grey brick intends to give the structure a contemporary feel. A pared-back material palette including exposed brickwork, blockwork and plaster allowed the project to be completed on a relatively modest budget.
