Simon Court, Queen’s Park

Transformation and restoration of an existing apartment at the top of a converted Victorian church in Queen’s Park. We inserted a new timber mezzanine and staircase whilst respecting the original fabric and details of the building. The mezzanine, staircase and other joinery elements are all constructed from knotless Radiata pine, with the staircase constructed from a CNC cut kit of parts. The timber was lightly whitened with oil, and provides a counterpoint to the red bricks and darker timber of the church. The existing timber roof structure, brick and stone features were all carefully restored to reveal the charm of this unique space.
