Conversion of a large terrace property into a family home in Islington. The existing building was split into four flats, with a rugged, neglected feel inside and out with dark and enclosed spaces, particularly in the main staircase space. We refurbished the entire five storeys and constructed a new double height infill extension at the rear. An electronic operated 6-metre high glazed sliding screen and large glazed pivot door allow light to enter the kitchen area. The existing garden level was lowered to provide a flush, seamless connection with the kitchen and living spaces on the ground floor.
